Plastic-coated sheet metal VIPLANYL®

Quality hydro-insulation material, plastic-coated VIPLANYL® sheet metal, processing sheet metals without PVC layer.

Description

One of the most important parts of a building is a roof with effective waterproofing, with all details attended to. That requires not only quality waterproofing material, but also the necessary additional elements. One of them is the plastic-coated VIPLANYL®, which is mainly used for finishing and anchoring sheet metal elements for the applications of PVC waterproofing foils. VIPLANYL® is a composite material formed from a metal basic material and from an organic coating which merges the excellent characteristics of both listed materials.

The protective layer is made from an organic material which provides the product with excellent protection against corrosion, good workability, and numerous color options to provide a highly decorative effect.

Processing the plastic-coated VIPLANYL® is similar to the processing of sheet metals without a PVC layer with the difference that the sheet metals can not be connected by soldering or welding. The sheet metals can also be processed by bending, but each sheet metal must be bent separately. They can be connected by folding (roof templates), riveting, or bonding the joint by permanently elastic bonding material.

The PVC layer does not require any additional surface treatment using a surface coating. If required (change of color) it can be painted with synthetic or dispersant paints (the type and kind of the surface coating used is necessary to inquire about beforehand with the manufacturer of the sheet metal). It is necessary to protect the PVC layer against the effects of organic dissolvers and compounds which do not guarantee non-reactivity to the softened PVC. The sheet metals are not designed for contact with drinkable water and consumables. If not stated otherwise, the sheet metals and the PVC layer are not suitable for contact with substances based on bitumen, asphalts, and tars. The manipulation, laying, bending and connecting can be performed under temperatures from -5 °C to +40 °C depending on the connecting method. As a standard, the VIPLANYL® sheet metals are supplied in 2000 x 1000 x 0.55 mm.
